NBA First Look | 11/1

November 11, 2021 by Dylan Bell

Welcome to the NBA 11/1 First Look! To kick off every weekday slate throughout the season I will be going over a few players who stand out to me after a first look. Make sure you never miss the article by joining our free DFS newsletter!

11/1 Picks:

Dejounte Murray, PG

DK : $9,200 | FD: $8,900

Analysis: Dejounte Murray is playing like a $10k player lately. He’s already shown 70 point upside this season, and he has 48+ DraftKings points over his last 3 games. I love targeting guys who are active all around the court like Murray because they rarely kill your lineup. Even when they have a bad shooting night they can still get you there because they rack up fantasy points in every stat category. Dejounte Murray has taken 17+ shots in 5/6 games this season. He’s also averaging 8.5 rebounds per game and 8.8 assist per game to go along with 13 steals through 6 games. Murray is one of the safest options in DFS right now and I imagine we will see his price continue to rise.

Chris Duarte, SG/SF

DK : $5,600 | FD: $5,500

Analysis: Chris Duarte is another really safe option on this slate. The rookie has been balling out through his first 7 NBA games. He has played 32+ minutes in every single game and has yet to put up less than 23 DraftKings points. He has scored 26+ DK points in 6 out of 7 games. The price is still cheap on Duarte and I’m gonna keep going back to him until he gives me a reason not to.

Josh Giddey, SG/SF

DK : $5,200 | FD: $6,000

Analysis: Sticking with rookies here with Josh Giddey who is just too cheap for the potential upside. Giddey has already shown upside games of 38 and 47 DraftKings point performances. $5,200 is just too cheap for that kind of upside. Unlike Duarte who I like in all formats, I only have interest in Giddey for GPP’s because he has shown a much lower floor and has less consistent minutes. But for a guy like Giddey who is active in every stat category, I do have a lot of tournament interest at the price tag.

Montrezl Harrell, C

DK : $6,700 | FD: $7,700

Analysis: Remember back in the day when we played Montrezl Harrell on the hopes that he plays 20 minutes instead of 15 because he’s such a good point per minute guy and always has the potential to smash if he gets enough run? Well now in Washington he’s getting that run, and he is smashing. Harrell has played 34+ minutes in 4 out of 6 games so far this season. He’s also scored 42+ DraftKings point double-doubles in 3 straight games. The price is up now, but it’s because he’s dominating and belongs to be in this price range. We’ve been waiting years to get minutes and usage like this from Harrell, I’m not getting off of it now just because he got a deserved price bump.

Cam Reddish, SG/SF

DK : $4,500 | FD: $5,300

Analysis: Switching over to a more tournament focused play with Cam Reddish here. Reddish is a scoring dependent guy that is most likely going to bust you if he has an off shooting night. The good news is he isn’t having many of those so far this season. Reddish has hit 6x value on this salary in 4 out of 6 games this season. He’s one of the better GPP values that I’m seeing on this slate so far. ATL-WAS is also the highest total game on the slate at the time of writing this, though some lines have not been released yet.
