Analysis: This showdown slate feels a little different than most. The major chalk at CPTN is going to CMC and Darnold, and for good reason. These two are absolute locks on this slate and the two players most likely to have high fantasy production games. The 3rd chalkiest CPTN (or at least what looks like it will the be 3rd chalkiest CPTN) is the Panthers D/ST. This is where I get confused. Don’t get me wrong, the Panthers is great and they have a good matchup, BUT the price tag of $6,200 is insane. The Panthers are going to have to haveĀ  shutout and/or a defensive TD with multiple sacks along the way in order to pay off that price tag. And when you consider the crazy high ownership they will have, I just love fading the Panthers D/ST altogether.

If you’re playing cash, McCaffrey and Darnold are definitely the most optimal CPTN’s. I do also like DJ Moore and Brandin Cooks if you’re trying to go a little cheaper at CPTN. And then we have Anthony Miller all the way down at $1,500. Miller is a guy who was just promoted from the practice squad. He’s going to be playing the slot receiver role for the Texans in this game. He is definitely a risky, GPP-only CPTN play that could end up doing nothing, but he does have some upside in the role he’s playing. He allows you to get off of the chalk CPTN’s while also freeing up a lot of salary that you can use to fit more of the stud payup options into your lineup.
