NFL Bargain Bin Plays | Week 3

Value Plays:

Daniel Jones ($5,800)

Analysis: If you’re looking to save some salary and pay down at QB in week 3, Daniel Jones is your guy. Jones has been pretty solid this season so far. He’s put up 22 and 29 DraftKings points in the first two games and has ran a TD in in both games as well. He’s a guy that always gives you some rushing upside. In a great matchup vs the Falcons, who have allowed 48 and 32 real life points in their first 2 games, I love Daniel Jones as a value option at QB for week 3.

Justin Fields ($5,200)

Analysis: Another cheap option at QB is Justin Fields making his first NFL start in week 3. It’s a tough matchup against the Cleveland defense, but Fields is a guy who has serious upside due to his rushing ability. The Browns are 7 point favorites in this one so Fields and the Bears should be playing catchup throughout the game and be forced into more passing situations. $5,200 is a little too cheap for a guy with as much rushing upside as Justin Fields has.

Cooper Kupp ($6,800)

Analysis: Now I wouldn’t generally have a $6,800 priced player in the Bargain Bin player pool, but Kupp’s price is simply still too low. This is a guy who should and and will soon be in the $7.5-8k range at WR. Even at $6,800 he’s a great value on this slate. Kupp has been dominating with his QB upgrade in Matthew Stafford so far this season. He’s caught 16 of his 21 targets for 271 yards and 3 TD’s in the first 2 games. Now he goes against a not-so-great Buccaneers pass defense in a game that has a 55.5 o/u with the Rams having a 27.25 implied team total. Kupp checks all the boxes as a top WR play in week 3.

Scotty Miller ($3,100)

Analysis: With Antonio Brown on the COVID list with a very slim chance of playing this week, Scotty Miller looks to be the guy who will step up into that slot receiver role for Tampa Bay. Jalen Ramsey is expected to follow Mike Evans around on Sunday, and if he doesn’t it will still be mostly Evans and Godwin that face Ramsey’s coverage. This makes me very interested in a guy like Scotty Miller at $3,100. Miller is a really fast deep threat and we seen glimpses of his upside in last years playoff run. He just doesn’t get much opportunity with the talent the team has at WR. But week 3 may very well be his opportunity to make some splash plays. If AB does somehow play this week, I like him a ton in this role as well.

Odell Beckham Jr. ($5,300)

Analysis: OBJ is trending towards making his season debut in week 3 and with Jarvis Landry on IR, Odell will be playing WR1 for the Browns. OBJ didn’t have a good season last yera before the injury, but he is a guy that we’ve heard nothing but good things about throughout camp, Baker Mayfield is playing great football right now and I do expect to see a bounce back season from OBJ. I don’t mind him as a value WR at $5,300.

Marvin Jones Jr. ($4,900)

Analysis: Marvin Jones salary only going up $200 from week 2 to 3 doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Jones has been a big part of the Jags offense this season with Trevor Lawrence at QB. He has 20 targets through the first 2 games and has scored a TD in each contest as well. This game has a pretty high total and the Jags are big underdogs, so we can expect to see Trevor Lawrence throwing the football a lot once again and that only helps out Marvin Jones fantasy upside.

K.J. Osborn ($3,500)

Analysis: Osborn is going to be the chalk value WR in week 3 for cash games. He’s been playing solid as the #3 WR in the Vikings offense. He has 15 targets through 2 games and has scored 14 and 20 DraftKings points. If you’re playing cash games you should definitely look Osborn’s way, but I do think it’s worth fading him in tournaments due to the high ownership and other value options.
